Cafe Krieghoff, is a wonderful little boutique hotel centrally located with a decent price for the location. After a long drive and late work shift the night before I slept great a solid 9 hours bed was very comfortable. We awoke the next morning to go downstairs to a great breakfast the homemade bagel with melted Swiss cheese and house jam was amazing with the Americano coffee. Lounge area was great also nice clean bathroom/shower. Also appreciated the books in the lounge and room nice to have some historical references of the area.

We chose this hotel because of the location, price and reviews. I can honestly say that it over exceeded our expectations. The hotel was very clean and quiet. The washroom was the cleanest washroom I've ever seen in a hotel. Other than one night when a plow/tow truck kept going by in the night the street was very quiet and because there are so few rooms available in the hotel the inside was also quite quiet as well. We went to the Bistro for one lunch and one dinner during our trip, and both times the food was amazing. The ambiance inside the Bistro was also bustling and lively, which showed how popular it was with the locals. The hotel is walking distance to the Fine Arts Museum, the plains of Abraham, and the main road has a lot of restaurants and little shops to visit. It also only takes about 10-15 minutes by bus to get to Old Quebec. We had a very pleasant experience. The only thing I would suggest would be to add slippers in the bedrooms so it's easy to walk to and from the exterior washroom without shoes on, and maybe find a way to secure the showerhead more in the holder (we had some issues with it falling out). However these are minor things that didn't affect our overall wonderful experience. I will note that to get to the first and second floor of the hotel you need to go up stairs, so if stairs are difficult for you it might not be the best option.

Charming, beautiful and very clean little hotel that really exceeded all our expectations! The staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Delicious at the restaurant. Perfect location within a walking distance from Old Quebec's downtown. The one thing I would improve is the frequency of the cleaning service. While the accommodations are impeccable, the room doesn't get done while you stay there. So we got stuck with dirty glasses, a half full trash can and wet towels during our stay.

My husband and I loved our time at Hotel Krieghoff. The room (#5) had everything we needed and was incredibly clean and comfortable. Although this room is right off of the main lobby, it has double doors and is very quiet. It was nice having access to the mini fridge, water, and lounge area right outside our room. We had no contact with the staff, but felt if we needed something they would be able to accommodate. We found the hotel to be perfectly situated, as we spent our few days walking between Old Quebec, Saint Sauveur, Saint Roch, and Saint Jean Baptist neighborhoods. The offerings on Av. Cartier were also great: plenty of restaurants, epiceries, and treats. The Montcalm neighborhood is a delight with it's tree-lined streets and easy access to the Plains of Abraham. Parking was a breeze as well. We arrived on a Saturday, so were able to leave our car on the street for two days. Then, we moved it to the (very affordable) public lot a block away. I will definitely be recommending this hotel to friends and will certainly stay here again!

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in an amazing location on what must be the most interesting and vibrant street in the city. The breakfast was terrific, and service was very cheerful and welcoming. Rooms are for people who can climb stairs.

A favourite for decades. The high quality of food & service hasn't diminished. Since the street redesign a few years ago, tables have been added on a sidewalk patio, and the original patio attached to the cafe has been upgraded. If you want to escape the tourists, this is the place to go to start your day, afternoon, or evening - just a 15-minute walk away from the walls of the old city.

We had brunch at Kreighoff Cafe in Quebec City on Quebec Day, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed—perfect for celebrating the holiday. The service was friendly and attentive, and the staff made sure we felt right at home. The coffee was rich and flavorful—exactly what you’d hope for to start a good brunch. The cafe offers both indoor seating and two terraces: one out front for people-watching and another out back for a quieter vibe. We tried two brunch plates and both were outstanding. The Provencal omelet was savory and colorful, filled with sauteed tomatoes, garlic, onions, peppers, and zucchini. It came with home-fried potatoes that were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, along with a slice of toast and a small portion of tangy red sauce. The second dish was a cream cheese omelet, soft and smooth with fresh tomatoes and chives tucked inside. It was served with the same crispy potatoes and toast, plus a side of fresh fruit slices—cantaloupe and orange—for a bright, refreshing finish. Highly recommended if you’re in Quebec City and looking for a charming, satisfying brunch spot.
